Do you know your LIBRARY? Check out these useful tidbits.

As the only national university in the country, the University of the Philippines was established on 18 June 1908 through Act No. 1870 of the first Philippine Legislature, known as the "University Act." Since then, it takes pride in being the pioneer in higher education through academic excellence, outstanding research, public service, and modernized facilities (www.up.edu.ph).

Established in 1922, the University Library is the University's key information resource for learning, research and scholarship. The University Library of UP Diliman encompasses one Main Library and 35 college or unit libraries. It envisions global information exchange throughout the UP Library System. It is mandated to be the information resource center of excellence in the social sciences, humanities and basic sciences.
