College Secretary

Randy Jay C. Solis is Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman, College of Mass Communication. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Management and Master’s degree in Communication from the Ateneo de Manila University. As member of the Department of Communication Research, he teaches undergraduate and graduate core courses in communication and research, and electives in communication management, planning, and communication and media issues, and advises students doing theses.

Also as Research Associate of the Institute of Philippine Culture of the Ateneo de Manila University, Prof. Solis conducts social science and communication research and training, working with international organizations like UNICEF, World Bank, and USAID. He has also published and presented in international conferences researches on mobile phone studies and participatory communication.

Prof. Solis had worked for international development organizations like the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) as Senior Programme Assistant for its Communication Section and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as Mass Media/Behavior Change Communication Specialist for its Health Promotion and Communications Project (HealthPRO). He continues to engage in communication, research, and training consultancies with these development organizations, particularly in the fields of children’s rights, governance, health communication, behavior change communication, strategic communication, with emphasis on participatory action research.

Prof. Solis is also a freelance choreographer and performing artist for dance and theater.
