Magpasiklab, Plaridel! 47 taon ng galing at talino, ipagdiriwang ng CMC!

The University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication will be celebrating CMC week with the theme “Magpasiklab, Plaridel!” 47th CMC Foundation Anniversary on March 3 to 9, 2012.

The celebration starts on March 3 with the Communication Research Alumni Homecoming at 4:00 pm.

Formal Opening Ceremonies will be on March 5, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, at the CMC Auditorium, Plaridel Hall Annex, UP Diliman. The highlights of the Opening Ceremonies include the Plaridel Journal launch; the blessing of the annex of the CMC library, UPFI media laboratory, Communication Research Department’s lobby and classroom; and the opening of three exhibits, including the history of the College.

A highpoint of the CMC week is a series of Symposium on the Future of Communication and Media Studies presented by the Office of the College Secretary (OCS) and the Office of Extension and External Relations (OEER) on March 6-8. The symposium will focus on the directions of media and communication education.  

The weeklong celebration features daily activities by the College’s different departments and offices:

To cap the weeklong celebration, CMC will have a recognition ceremony of its outstanding students, faculty, staff and alumni on March 9 at 10 am at the CMC Auditorium. The CMC 47th Foundation Week will end with a culmination activity organized by the CMC Student Council called “SIKLAB, Cultural Night” at 6 pm at the MCB TV Studio.
