Joining Vice President Robredo in the roster of speakers are former Department of Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez, and Thai Ambassador to the Philippines Mr. Thanatip Upatising, as well as some of the leading communication scholars in the ASEAN region, namely: Dr. Richard Seyler Ling, professor of media technology at the National Technological University in Singapore and most widely cited scholar in mobile communication studies; Dr. Sun Sun Lim, Dean of Research on Communication and New Media Program at the National University of Singapore; Dr. Clarissa David, professor at the University of the Philippines and one of the country’s Outstanding Young Scientists; Dr. Michiyo Yoneno-Reyes of the UP Asian Center, and Dr. Chalisa Magpanthong, assistant professor at the Bangkok University and noted scholar in the field of cross-border migration and terrorism.

The conference will also convene ideas and insights dealing with the social, cultural, and political challenges brought about by the ASEAN integration.
