The National Communication Research Student Conference (NCRSC) Theme: “Creatively Rediscovering Communication & Media”
CALL FOR PAPERS The UP College of Mass Communication invites students and scholars from all regions of the country to participate in the first National Communication Research Student Conference (NCRSC) to be held on January 13 and 14, 2012. The two-day conference is co-sponsored by the Philippine Communication Society and the Philippine Association of Communication Educators.
The National Communication Research Student Conference (NCRSC) seeks to:
1. Develop the students’ research writing and presentation skills
2. Promote awareness about the importance of communication research
3. Share the findings of student researches with other communication and media students, teachers, and practitioners nationwide, and
4. Provide a venue for students to have a national network among themselves and with professionals.
Submission must reflect the conference theme and may be any topic related to: communication including interpersonal and group communication, indigenous media, traditional and electronic media, and the new social networks. Abstracts of 250 words and a 150-word “About the Author” should be submitted on or before September 30, 2011 to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
A committee consisting of Comm Res faculty members and representatives from PCS and PACE will screen the abstracts. The announcement of accepted papers will be on or before October 30 or a month after submission. Full papers will be required on or before November 30, 2011.
For a paper to be included in the conference, it must: have passed the review process, be submitted to email@example.com, follow APA formatting and citation style, have a maximum of 25 pages excluding bibliography and appendices, and be endorsed by a faculty adviser.
A faculty adviser will mentor the student presenters until successful presentation in the conference.
Registration fee for the conference is P200.00 for students and P300.00 for teachers. The fee includes a conference kit, program, ID, electronic access to all conference papers and certificate of attendance. Presenters will be waived of the registration fee and will receive a Certificate of Presentation. Best papers may be selected for possible publication.
