Departments

The undergraduate program leading to a BA in Broadcast Communication seeks to provide students with the requisite training to become future broadcast practitioners who are competent, critical, and responsible.

Since its inception in 1975, the Department of Communication Research has offered courses designed to develop scholarship, skills-proficiency, and professionalism among its students. In addition, it undertakes research and extension activities benefitting stakeholders from sectors within and beyond the academe.

The Graduate Studies program was established to provide a comprehensive understanding of communication as an academic discipline and professional field of study, with areas of concentration in broadcast communication, film, journalism and communication research in the MA level, and communication in the PhD level.

Adhering to the principle of communication as an applied science that combines theory and practice, the College's graduate program shares the overall aim of graduate study at UP Diliman, which is to develop critical inquiry and high-level research.

The Journalism program, the oldest in the college, gives students a strong grounding in the arts and sciences and equips them with the skills currently required by the profession.
