CMC Deans are National Book Awards nominees!

CMC Dean Roland Tolentino and former Dean Nicanor Tiongson are finalists at the 30th National Book Awards, organized and awarded annually by the National Book Development Board. 

Dr. Tolentino's works have been nominated in both the literary and non-literary divisions of the contest. Gitnang Uring Fantasya At Materyal Na Kahirapan Sa Neoliberalismo: Politikal Na Kritisismo Ng Kulturang Popular (University of Santo Tomas Publishing House) is a finalist for the Literary Criticism/Literary History category. Mondo Marcos: Writings on Martial Law and the Marcos babies (Anvil Publishing, Inc.), for which he shares credit with by Frank Cimatu, is nominated in the Social Sciences category. 

Dr. Tiongson's The Urian Anthology 1990-1999 (The University of the Philippines Press and Film Development Council of the Philippines), is nominated in the Art category of the non-literary division of the contest.

The announcement and awarding of winners will be held at a special ceremony on November 12, 2011 at National Museum.
