Office of Research and Publication
The UP CMC Office of Research and Publication (ORP) oversees the publication of Plaridel: A Journal of Philippine Communication, Media and Society.
Plaridel is the only refereed academic journal in communication and media studies. Published in 2004, it comes out twice a year (February and August). Each issue revolves around a specific theme, such as media and life stages, media and ethnicity, media and popular culture, and media and freedom.
Aside from the Plaridel Journal, the ORP also organizes the faculty colloquia which provide a venue for faculty members to present their research outputs. Also, the College, through the departments, organizes summer training workshops on skills and specialized training for practitioners, educators and other interested individuals.
Activities of the ORP are supported by the CMC Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit organization, established to promote the ideals of the college in the public sphere. One of the foundation's activities is Pay-It-Forward, a campaign that aims to reconnect the college's alumni and involve them in sustaining the college's mission of providing excellence in communication and media education in the country and the region.
